I stop myself in the middle of my normal writing to complete this. This. My crowning achievement. An expression of deep and utter bliss. For I have finally been blessed after a month of searching (and refusing to buy online) with not one, but two real-life boxes of my greatest dream.
Though words can hardly express my joy, I endeavor to covey within the capacity of limited language my experience.
Honestly, I was caught off guard. I was already wearing one of my Lucio shirts when the angle of cereal (my boyfriend) returned from the store with this life changing gift, but I was caught Lucio-hatless, Lucio-shoeless, and Lucio-hoodie-less. I needed to prepare.
I dawned my Lucio-clothes and set the table. I didn’t have a green spoon, so yellow would have to do. I needed my Lucios at the ready for this experience as the other Pop figures and Cute But Deadly minis cried from their stands due to lack of love. I almost felt bad, but they just aren’t Lucio
Next I had to pick a box to open. I can’t open both, because I’m clearly not stable, and eating both boxes of cereal is something properly adjusted people do. A choice was necessary.
It wasn’t a hard choice. My pictures aren’t great, but one of my Lucio-Ohs was clearly faded. He’d lost the beat. I opened that box. Enough waiting around; it was time to break it down.
Opening the box without damaging it was actually pretty easy. Kellogg’s apparently anticipated me. It was here I noted the “Sonic Vanilla” flavor on the box. I was surprised. I’d heard so much speculation about them just being Apple Jacks that I never bothered to actually look at what flavor Lucio-Ohs were going to be. I was a fool, but a pleasantly surprised one. Vanilla is my favorite flavor. My hype increased.
I poured the cereal out first because I’m not a total heathen. Next came the milk, and though the Yellow Ohs could have been yellower, it was a darn good looking cereal.
So the question I hear you all asking, how is it?
Dropping the dramatics to level with everyone for a moment, it’s actually real good. Unreal even. So good it’s scary. Can’t stop; won’t stop with the voice line references.
Dry it tastes similar to how I remember Frosted Cheerios tasting before they went gluten free. That’s probably because I’m pretty sure the Lucio-Ohs aren’t gluten free, or at least I didn’t see it say so on the box. In milk the vanilla comes out as more than just a frosted flavor, and I love it. Vanilla is my jam. I will say they got just a little soggy on me, but that may have been because I stopped to take this picture during my first bowl.
The second bowl (I guess I didn’t have enough), I ate so fast that I may have cut up my mouth, but that’s just how you know you’re eating cereal, right? I will say I was almost disappointed it never turned my milk Lucio-green. It just looks like it should, you know? The Green-Ohs are oh-so green!
As a cereal I give it a 10/10 for taste. It was just my speed. For appearance it’s getting a 8/10. Could have turned my milk green, but what are you going to do?
As for all the extra’s on the box, I’m not going to try the loot boost because I got it after the 12/31/19 deadline, and I don’t care enough to see if it got extended. This wasn’t about that for me. I did look into the free album download, and that still worked fine despite the 12/31/19 deadline listed by it too. And then of course, there’s this…
I am ecstatic. I’m terrible at posting on my social media, but you can bet I’m doing my Lucio up on my open box and posting it to Twitter. I’m thinking sunflowers…
In some, Lucio-Ohs is actually a good cereal, and you should get them—if you can. Also, don’t be a scalper. Limit yourself to a few boxes. Share the love. It’s what Lucio would want you to do.
